    Pros

The people that work here care about what they do here. They are passionate and strive for the best patient care.

    Cons

One might perceive nepotism, as San Angelo is a larger town with a small town vibe.

I have been working at Shannon Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Good company to work for. Frequent feedback solicited from employees by management, strong team atmosphere. You will not be alone working here. The organization is always looking for things to improve.

    Cons

Plumbing is always failing, and some other issues with infrastructure have come up. We are in the middle of a remodel right now (July 2016). Communication between units is not the best.

Competitive pay, great benefits, focused on quality care, every company or business has it weaknesses, this organization has very few weaknesses it doesn't try to overcome, they are also focused on employee engagement and working very hard to create a better work environment

    Cons

Sometimes the politics or agenda of a few hinder progress that could be made

    Advice to Management

Bite the bullet and clean house

I worked at Shannon Medical Center part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, reliable salary! Keeps you on your toes!
Ways enjoyed coming into work mostly because the staff always helped each other out. Never a dull moment in the ER.

    Cons

Policies are aimed at keeping the patients safe, not the staff. Very scary!! But thank goodness the police are not too far! They def need to hire more security guards!!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, make your presence known!

    Cons

6th floor had horrible work flow. Bad attitudes everywhere

    Advice to Management

The manager is a disaster. No idea what she is doing or how to go about and treat people, especially aides

I worked at Shannon Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Education, trainings and pertinent certifications promptly given. Great Orientation program into Shannon. Great

    Cons

Not ideal patient to staff ratios. At time of my employment, nurses had to scramble between different computer systems (only nursing and ancillary used one and physicians another) and paper charting. Pharmacy dispensing and machines exceedingly lacking timeliness, availability, and functionality; need a change in system but during employment, unable to help find solution.
