I have been working at Sharp Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Overall I have had a good experience at Sharp. A lot of things are done inefficiently but I've had the opportunity to sell 1v1 with C-levels all over the D.C. area which is very goodfor an entry level job. Also some of our AV products are the best on the market. I'd recommend to a friend if they are trying to get into sales. A seasoned vet should try their hand in a different industry.

    Cons

I'm mainly selling copiers. Also the company has been in a bit of turmoil as of recent but they just got bought out by Foxconn. Fingers crossed that Sharp gets a marketing budget. High turnover but that's the name of the game.

    Advice to Management

The biggest problem is support. If I have a question about one of our own products sometimes I have more luck digging around on IT forums than reaching corporate.

    Pros

Broaden experience into hardware. International business and travel experience. Good educational opportunities. Smart employees. Regular updates on group activities. Good experience with agile development for most part.

    Cons

Flat organization. Limited promotion opportunities. Communications issues. Difficulty getting products understood and approved in Japan. Slow product life cycle for software. Customer contact very limited. Good ideas rarely make it past the presentation stage to Japan. Company as a provider of hardware, does not as a whole, understand software process and market. US subsidiary wishes to control Sharp Labs.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to improve communications between US sales subsidiary, Sharp Labs and Japan HQ.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Sharp Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The profile they offered was Market Research which involved meeting with managers and get a questionnaire filled. During that interaction if we could sell a product then that was well and good. So people interested in hard core sales profile can consider being employed at this company.

    Cons

The products of Sharp except Television is not so popular in India and also price range is higher as compared to other companies. So this makes selling difficult for the sales person. And perks and incentives offered are also quite less.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to be more employee friendly . And the Hyderabad office Should be renovated so as to create a good work environment.
