I worked at Sharp Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Warm and friendly teammates. Great location, Competitive benefits and decent products.

    Cons

Top Mgmt continued to misguide company while competitors ate their lunch. Finance team focus on reducing headcount at all costs while morale sunk like the titanic. Mgmt not in touch with reality.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt runs on who they know, not on what they know, if they know anything at all. Get it right the second time. Three strikes you are out.

I have been working at Sharp Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great products,
Prestige of working for a world-wide recognised electronics brand.

    Cons

Constant revolving door management (both local and senior).
No career progression and sub-par salaries for customer facing staff.
    No communication to staff.
    EXCESSIVE micro-management.
'Duties as required' means you absorb roles of any staff who leave.
Short sighted, seemly no long term goals... well, nothing past the end of each billing month anyway.
Oh, Did I mention the very sub-standard level of pay?

    Advice to Management

Managers do not sell. Managers do not support clients.
Stop putting on more middle management and start investing in the front line staff.

I have been working at Sharp Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours? Majority of the business starts on time and leaves on time.

    Cons

Where do you start? Poor management, cheap, lack of employee benefits in office, no work life balance, silo teams, expects you to work like robots, no trust, no direction, rude, excessive micromanagement. Say yes or nod will make your life easier.

    Advice to Management

Doing the same thing over and over again is not going to make the results better.

I worked at Sharp Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Pay for the position, not far from my home, nice clean and well appointed building to work at, onsite security

    Cons

Bad immediate management, located in a bad area of town, little to no training or knowledge given for the position - based on old position holder

    Advice to Management

Ensure knowledge transfer from one employee to the next - instead of leaving someone hanging to try to determine need themselves, with a manager more concerned about bottom line and not employee ability..

I worked at Sharp Corporation full-time

    Pros

You can experience working for one of the well-known brands and it adds value on your CV. Work-life balance is good for a Japanese company.

    Cons

Sharp has been under a financially difficult situation for many years and do not have money to invest in its business. It ends up restricting a lot of opportunities at work due to being too cost-conscious.

    Advice to Management

Should have focused on creating new businesses earlier when Sharp was doing well. Management were short-sighted before, but now Hon Hai took over Sharp management so hope it gets better to manage the company.

    Pros

Location is good and easily accessible and away from NYC traffic. Non executive personnel is extremely friendly and great to work with.

    Cons

Disorganized and extremely un people friendly. Not concerned about work-life balance or needs. Top Management is ever changing with 'other than company goals as the main priority.

    Advice to Management

Need to consider employees as an asset and provide a reasonable work and life balance. Provide benefits such as extra compensation or vacation, to offset negatives of required overtime during some time periods.

Le seule avantage concret, est le caractère itinérant du poste. Véhicule fournie, péage parking et essence pris en charge par la société

    Autonomie dérisoire
Organisation médiocre, et ne s'améliorant pas
