I worked at Shaw Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to help out in other departments. Quality service staff.

    Cons

Attitude by management of expecting perfection. Management uncaring about staff.

    Advice to Management

You need to allow for work life balance in your staff. I was a high producing results employee who happened to develop an illness where I needed a sick leave, and the managers and human resources person fired me illegally. Coming into work would have breached my specialists advice and I may have made my other coworkers ill. Unfortunate that the Customer Care management cared more about their pocketbook and retiring at 50 to play golf than about Integrity, which oddly enough happened to be a Shaw company value. This company does compromise integrity. You can produce stellar results for this company, and they can still ignore you and treat you as a number. This company does not enforce their values for the call centre staff.

I worked at Shaw Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Open flexible environment, healthy food available, reasonable wage and days off. Lots of room to move laterally and vertically here, you just need to show initiative. If you are smart and a good worker, fast and reliable, they will want to have you.

    Cons

I personally didn't care for the job itself but the company was great.

    Advice to Management

None, it's a great company to work for.

Hire and promote people for their skill and pay them well. Don't use management re-structuring twice a year to shed experience people.
