    Pros

Made you feel very important, until it was your turn to get the boot!

    Cons

Always looking to get rid of someone..... any one with any time there and making good money.

    Advice to Management

Stop kissing the DM ! And start helping the employees that work there , and get spirits in the store up lifted.

I have been working at Shaw's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to talk to customers and the job requires very little attention to details. No skills are needed.

    Cons

Poverty wages. Working 6-7 days a week. Hire visa-workers to keep your wages low. Healthcare could be better.

    Advice to Management

Let the workers have a voice in the decision making.

I have been working at Shaw's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The jobs are not hard and it's easy money. The Management can be good in some stores. PTO is also pretty good and pet timers ever get it!

    Cons

I have worked for this company for several years and I honestly feel like I'm just a number and a body to fill a void. The job isn't hard per say but with the lack of labor and workers, it creates stress for the rest of the workers.

    Advice to Management

Hire more and pay more! The starting date is crazy low! Also, start allowing raises for PM closers besides the base 14 per hour no matter what.

    Pros

Good hours and busy environment- the day goes by fast; meet lots of interesting people; both customers and employees- good environment to learn about retail food stores

    Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement; even though you have many store locations to choose from; limited office opportunities to attain; change of ownership leads to numerous changes in stores; what does that do for the customer.

    I worked at Shaw's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of variety. No day is ever the same. Store level teams work together to accomplish the daily tasks. It's retail in the most traditional sense.

    Cons

It's 2016 and I find it absolutely shocking about the lack of diversity in the management ranks of this company. Outside of a few notable exceptions, management is old white guys who can't seem to see the value of diversity. Examples include: 1) No female uniform. 2) Different performance standards for the "old boys" in the club and those that are not. 3) HR. rules administered arbitrarily. I could go on however the fact is most of this leadership has no life experience outside of this particular company and it shows.

    Advice to Management

Establish a recruiting/mentoring program in order to diversify your management ranks to include women and minorities.

    Pros

The store discount wasn't too shabby, and most of my coworkers across the store were pleasant and easy to work with
