Pros
Everyone that I worked with at Shearman & Sterling was very nice and professional. I learned a lot in my position. They had a monthly wine & cheese event that was really nice. You'd get to mingle with the workers from the other floors.
Cons
The pay wasn't so great for the San Francisco office.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Pay was great. The people there are quite capable. The attorneys really know what they're doing and they sometimes have time to help.
Cons
The hours are long. I was looking at 9:30-9 on a consistent basis, and often til 12 or 2. Expect 12 hour days to be a given. Weekends, kiss goodbye.

Pros
Very competitive pay. Benefits are standard
Cons
A true sweatshop. There is no work life balance. You can't count on management to support you. If it can save their skin, they will sacrifice you. Truly horrible place to work. Stay away!

However, I was replaced and let go the day before a big holiday. -I tried to email for references and didn't hear back from supervisors that I worked closely with for months and considered on very good terms with -Very low pay
