I have been working at Sheetz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay, bonuses, Benefits ,and 1/2 off meals

    Cons

To many call outs , which puts the pressure on the remaining employees to get the job duties done and at the same time ,still give great customer service

    Advice to Management

Take care of and show appreciation for the dedicated employee 's you do have and address their conserns on helping shifts run smoother .just because they dont have that supervisory title, doesnt mean their input is not of value , Alot of that going on at certain stores .

I worked at Sheetz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy challenging myself to learn new things and I also enjoyed the very fast pace. Also, seeing all the different people .

    Cons

They do not train you properly. They make rude comments to each other about new trainees causing them to fall behind on tasks or having trainees do tasks completely unsupervised without being trained on the task.

    Advice to Management

Schedule so a trainee shadows a regularly scheduled associate throughout training to ensure proper training.

I have been working at Sheetz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has a lot of nice benefits to students such as scholarships, flexible work scheduling, and nice little bonus checks every few months. Get paid extra on holdiays. They give you a wide range of tasks to keep you busy during your shift. I would only recommend to students who would work seasonally or part time and need the nice starting minimum wage.

    Cons

The environment requires good communication and if your team of coworkers and managers don't mix well it can be a long and hard job. It can also be tough to balance work and life. My managers call me almost every off day I get, asking if I could come in and cover for a missing co-worker. I've notived the managers are worked like slaves and don't get almost any time off with their families. This sometimes contributes to a tense and stressful work environment and can lead to silly mistakes from being overworked. I've also been scheduled every possible shift.. First, second, and third. The employees who stay longer get treated better. Don't get holdiays off.

    Advice to Management

Consider the work/life balance of all employees including managers.

    Pros

Awesome training where you get to eat the food when you're done making it. Great benefits, flexible scheduling, and employee appreciation.

    Cons

A lot more work than one person can handle sometimes. There are long periods of being understaffed and in a desperate attempt to rectify that, lazy, unqualified people are hired. I think a lot of don't anticipate how truly hard and stressful MTO is.

    Advice to Management

    Hire better people.

    Pros

great company to work for. decent benefits

I have been working at Sheetz part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, best hard working people to work with. Drama free.

    Cons

Sometimes not enough people to cover the busiest shifts especially weekend's. I know how to run the kitchen very well, and had supervisors that have me doing the work that they don't know how to do. Lasy management, store manager tells a manager to do some tasks, and they only turn around and make kitchen staff do it.

    Advice to Management

Promote within, people that actually know what to do. Have had new management not previous sheetz employees so the employees already there already know the stuff that has to be done so regular sales staff has to teach management..not ok.

    Cons

Policies need revamped for employee's in first 90 days, pay is sub par.

    Advice to Management

Treat employee's and their lives as if you were the on in need of compassion and understanding...This is aimed more towards corporate

I have been working at Sheetz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

full time hrs and benefits , fast pace and fulfilling

    Cons

to many of my co workers are allowed to just stand around and not do their share of work , which makes it frustrating for the ones that are working harder to compensate for the others lack of participation .

    Advice to Management

start giving raises based on one's job performance /attendance and customer service instead of all getting a automatic raise after 1 yrs , there for sheetz will save money and weed out the useless employees that are wasting your money and wasting our time , it takes team work to make things run smoothly and when a few are not doing their share and we hard working and perfect attendance and quality service employee's are getting taking advantage of , it frustrates me that we all are getting to same wages and raises but we hard workers are actually earning our wages and the slackers are just collected their wages and wasting your money . Its not fair to us .
