I worked at Sheetz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - 1/2 off MTO products while on clock and free fountain drinks/coffee

    Cons

    - Horrible Work/Life balance
    - Employees call off a lot and you have to be available 4hrs before and after shift.
    - Drama and Gossip
    - Low pay based on the cost of living for the area. $13/hr in VA and $12/hr in PA
    - Lack of staffing at a busy store. Makes it hard to complete tasks,
    - Different levels of management have different attendance policies.

    Advice to Management

Assistant Managers should have a point system for attendance like the rest.
Actually have competitive pay and pay more when someone brings management experience.
Staff your stores properly. Not enough workers on second shift.
Store managers should proactively stamp out gossip and drama in the workplace not be a part of it.
If you staff the stores properly then other employees won't call off a lot and then supervisors won't be forced to work 130hrs of OT in 5 months.

I worked at Sheetz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to get entry level experience for enterprise IT, good parties

    Cons

High responsibility and constantly being barraged with work outside of work hours, I found out I was being demoted in my review. My review and measurables were outstanding, but I was told by my manager it was an "Obamacare thing" and told me it didn't matter much. Get hired into an unfavored group, prepare to bust your rear for no return, at least that was my experience. Had my previous review removed for some reason?

    Advice to Management

Promote the people that are working to make your company better, not the people you don't see as a threat to leave

I worked at Sheetz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits, easy job, kind of fun even at times when you work with the right people

    Cons

You can get fired without warning because of something they never trained you on and then someone from corporate in a whole other city whose never even met you can decide your dishonest and fire you even though you've never had a write up and was just promoted. Seriously be carful they rope you in with the pay and the benefits and the "family atmosphere" and then they knife you in the back like every other corporation. If your last name isn't Sheetz they don't care!! Period.

    Advice to Management

Get off your phone, get off Snapchat, get out of the office and actually train and teach your employees, not just set them up for failure to be fired when they don't know something because they were never taught.

    Pros

I enjoy challenging myself to learn new things and I also enjoyed the very fast pace. Also, seeing all the different people .

    Cons

They do not train you properly. They make rude comments to each other about new trainees causing them to fall behind on tasks or having trainees do tasks completely unsupervised without being trained on the task.

    Advice to Management

Schedule so a trainee shadows a regularly scheduled associate throughout training to ensure proper training.

    Pros

compared to other similar places, the pay is OK.

    Cons

When I was there, all my manager did was throw the book in my face after everything I did.

Staffing issues when the store is busy.

Management sits on a high horse.

    Advice to Management

When you have a location next to a college, staff the store at night on the weekends.

Also, statistics show better quality work is done when people are left alone to do their job instead of someone breathing down your neck. It only demoralizes people if you are in their face.

    Pros

Excellent, affordable benefits. Excellent pay. Really busy especially during the summer or on holidays. Paid holidays immediately.

    Cons

Favoritism is shown and circumstances are manipulated to get rid of those not liked. Frequently work short handed on holidays and on the third shift.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to complaints coming through the hotline.

    Advice to Management

Reality check on what really happens culturally
