I have been working at Shell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

good salary, good pension, flexible start / finish times, relaxed dress code, free onsite gym, access to wood bank a private hotel.

    Cons

The work is not intellectually stimulating, the majority of your work is "busy work" managing spread sheets, databases, online systems, creating reports power point slides or posters, etc.

    Advice to Management

Stop the corporate propaganda, get to know your staff and their work to allow you to make positive changes to reduce the wasteful work.

I worked at Shell as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent communications and a compassionate approach during extremely uncertain times. one of few companies to put into practice their values on e.g. stress management and work/life balance.

    Cons

No negatives against the company but as I need to have 20 words minimum, I'll state that although there are systems and procedures for almost everything, it was sometimes extremely difficult to locate them!

    Advice to Management

To address the negative, I would suggest a human face to help resolve IT issues, especially navigation concerns. With reference to the pros, just keep on practicing what you preach.

    Pros

Good place to work, people are very friendly and there is a lot which can be learned from mature company.

    Cons

Not enough work for the number of people employed. Very few opportunities to learn and develop as team restructuring

    Advice to Management

None, I believe that things have chances significantly since I worked here so not sure that my advice would still be applicable.

    Advice to Management

Stop inbreeding of staff. Contractors being kept instead of staff as they have relations in management. Highly corrupt company

I worked at Shell (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work/life balance is great
    Good HSE practice
Opportunities to move around the world
Accommodates learning different things, also outside of job responsibilities

    Cons

    Poor inter-departmental cooperation at times
Many old-timers who do not invite change, and therefore room for improvement of inefficiencies

    Advice to Management

Analyse staff activities and make sure they're being performed efficiently and logically, I felt that with the size of the company there was much room for improvement. Computer skills training would seriously cut down delivery for most analytical roles, and help people work better together and avoid mistakes.

I worked at Shell (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great learning, gives you a problem e let you solve it in your own way just monitoring your results. Good infrastructure for the employees

    Cons

Mostly values, you see that most people work at Shell because of its good salary not because of their own values or reasons.

    Advice to Management

I do not have any advice since I am talking about values I should firstly try to understand the whole strategy of Shell.
