I have been working at Shell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice people, comfortable culture, great mood, great opportunities, merit-based, performance ranking, importance of safety, straightforwardness, lots of opportunities to make an impact, truly worldwide connectivity.

    Cons

Slow decision-making, lots of redundant safety procedures, no affection for beauty in the corporate culture (everything is dictated by necessity, not designed for ergonomics). Checking the outside market and practices is unpopular, “I’m 30+ years in Shell and we always did it this way!”

I have been working at Shell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Theres plenty of opportunities for improvement despite all the efforts in place. The leadership focuses on key issues sucb as dilemmas and care. The root cause of failure to improve.

    Cons

While they system is in place to address dilemmas. The momentum in which the people capitalizes the system to remove barriers is still at a snails pace.

    Advice to Management

Keep motivating with transparency of goals. Therrs nothing more demotivating than to work and realise its the wrong goal. No money can buy job satisfaction from accomplishing beyond self.

I have been working at Shell full-time

    Pros

    -Branding
    -Renumeration
    -Safety practices part of HSSE
    -Facility and set-up

    Cons

-IT leadership are unaware on how to lead delivery
    -Biased approach to Indians
    -Discriminating Indians as slave force
-Unrealistic work culture when it comes to Indians
-Be prepared to take midnight calls and loose your sleep. Mandatory US work timings since 70% of most projects are delivered from USA
-No long term international assignments(loose your sleep and deliver from India)
-Huge projects have pressurized work environment
    -No work-life Balance
-Not the pay master as assumed, attrition rate points its finger
-HR policies are HR friendly, made by HR's for HR's
-Pay structure offers No tax benefits to employees
-Policies and practices are now localized by Indian Managers and HR's hence global best practices are no more practiced in Shell India markets private Ltd

The list goes on, as 2.5 years in this organization has brought to light how the organisation now works. Be prepared to see discrimination by peers outside India. It started well and all is not going well hence Attrition has increased.

    Advice to Management

Employees working in India also have rights, be it India or USA or Europe- all who work for this organisation are humans. Money is not everything, please have policies so that work life balance can be maintained.
