I have been working at Shepley Bulfinch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team effort, great leaders, opportunity to gain knowledge, great co-workers in all offices, leaders inspire and encourage, understand/ work with individual interest to grow stronger knowledge and resources, sense of pride and enthusiasm towards work/ culture life.

    Cons

Not enough time in the a day to continue to do more and more.

    Advice to Management

The future of Shepley is what you pass down to the people of your firm today. Embrace it, teach it, and watch it flourish into the future. Sometime this means to rake leaves and brake dead life draining branches so we can see the green underneath and life start to grow.

I have been working at Shepley Bulfinch full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Probably good for young architect who like to explore more opportunities. The leaders in this company are planners who usually not appreciate the architect's ability of construction knowledge.

    Cons

The office organization is pretty messy in term of task assignments. The task is not assigned based on the ability. It is actually based on the personal relationship with the partners.

    Advice to Management

Project types are not very diversified. Although there are many healthcare project now but the office seems suffering with other sections.

I have been working at Shepley Bulfinch full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy working schedule. Flexible with working time only if management like your work. Willing to try new way of design even it might not work well. Nice view around office.

    Cons

loss managing structure, not efficient on production and communication, low- quality document, immature design, & low bounces. The firm promoting young staffs to be on the managing. This creates low qualities on documentation and design. The more experience people actually become the nontechnical supports.

    Advice to Management

Many issues to be overcome to be a better firm. For instance, management and leader levels are not easy to access if you are not white people. In general, there are limited opportunities for colored races. The office breaks into small circles which political fighting with each other.

I have been working at Shepley Bulfinch full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Staff at Shepley are consistently great. Projects are interesting. Resources are good. Location is nice (but we'll be moving soon). Great place to be self-directed; you'll get a lot of latitude. Excellent flex time policy.

    Cons

This is a firm with poor leadership, or at least, superficial leadership. Lots of churn currently. Hard to rise up, unless you work for the right people. Disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Do more to voice appreciation of people. Do stuff that is free, even! Take more time. Lead with depth.
