I worked at Sherwin-Williams as an intern

    Pros

Sales experience, management experience, customer service experience, knowledge of the paint business, good pay

    Cons

Long hours, not a lot of room for growth, manual labor, on your feet most of the day, work on weekends and holidays

    Advice to Management

Hire more associates in the stores and update the computer system

I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good, steady income; great co-workers

    Cons

Complete lack of autonomy, incredible amount of micromanagement. They strongly encourage a bachelor's degree, but give you no opportunity to use what you learned.

    Advice to Management

Let local management did what you hired them to do - manage.

    I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time

    Pros

The pay and benefits are good and for the most part, so are the employees that you work with. Also, flexible schedules are common to accommodate doctor appointments, school programs, etc.

    Cons

Change in leadership means a change in culture. No longer feels like a "family" company, but more centered on cost reduction to pay down acquisition debt.

    Advice to Management

Dump Mission 20/20 - the message to employees is that the company will not provide the necessary resources to perform the job and it is more important to deliver garbage that requires follow up fixes rather than doing things right. After all, isn't it about doing things right and doing things well?

    Pros

Great company to start your professional career. One can learn a lot about being a leader and setting examples for your team to follow.

    Cons

It is basically a retail job. May work nights and weekends. Is required to work 44hours a week. Although they say that it is a lot of room for advancement if you are not a spanish speaker your chances seems to be cut in half.

    Advice to Management

Do not overlook candidates because they do not speak a certain language

    Pros

The people in this company are awesome. Great culture. Very fast paced working environment, and you're never sitting down

    Cons

Storefront job, and wasn't exactly the down and dirty job I was looking for. Little sales experience was given.

    I worked at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have great Benefits, decent pay, and It is a good work environment in the two store that I worked out of.

    Cons

The hours can be rough depending on the store that you work out of. In small volume store you may be asked to work 7:45-6:15 by yourself and without a break. Better pack a lunch.

    Advice to Management

Just because a candidate has a degree and has been with the company for five months does not mean they are worth more than a candidate that has experience and has been with the company for multiple years.
