    I worked at Sherwin-Williams part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very simple work that allowed me to drive all over Kansas City. Doing so allowed me the experience to learn the names of all the roads and streets in my city.

    Cons

If one isn't good with demanding physical labor, this isn't the job for you. Not necessarily a con, just a warning. I do wish there was more room for climbing up the ladder at the company. Felt very closed-in.

    Pros

Store hours are not open late.

    Cons

If you are not a manager more times than not you are doing all of the labor.

    I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time

    Pros

It is a great company to work for, upper management is very supportive (from my experience).

    Cons

I don't think the stores should be open certain holidays, it is literally a waste of funds.

I worked at Sherwin-Williams (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Flexible Hours
    -401k & Stock Discount Purchases
    - Friendly and Patient Environment
    - Overall Good Customers

    Cons

    - Little opportunity to work up.
    - No full-time unless your management
    -Wildly inconsistent hours
-District expects a lot out of the stores in general.

    Advice to Management

Employee turnover is the greatest enemy to this business. You guys should really think about offering more of an incentive for employees to stick around.

I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits, pay, opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Outdated equipment, outdated "old school" company policies that have barely changed over the last 150 years. No vision of the future work environment. Management tends to "black list" people they perceive as a threat to their ego and will sabotage any shot at moving up or out or purposely hold back qualified individuals because they don't want to have to have an opening to fill.

    Advice to Management

Look at the structure and policies of organizations that are way newer than yours that make billions more than you do and blow you out of the water when it comes to employee morale and overall happiness. Most jobs now are done online, on a computer. Embrace the future and post more telecommuting opportunities and get rid of the dusty old idea that professionals need to be constantly supervised in person. Appraisals are done based off of reports generated electronically and the computer screens, phones, email, internet, texts etc is already accessible and monitored too. You have kronos so people would still have to clock in on time, think of the money you would save not having to provide commuter benefits, rent of space, electricity, gas, facility maintenance, cleaning services, the list can go on and on!

I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits and pay are some of the best I've seen. They have a lot of nice resources since they're a large company.

    Cons

Work/life balance isn't good. The tasks can be very mundane and tedious.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is all about sales but then forget about the operations aspect of the store.
Also, yes there is room for growth but it's so structured that if you don't want to be a manager you're stuck. There are few other opportunities.
