I worked at Shields Health Care Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good PTO and holiday benefits

    Cons

Terrible work environment, there is constant drama in the workplace and there is manipulation and people side with eachother to pinpoint one person. I have never worked somewhere that the drama was so bad that even the managers were involved in it all. If you enjoy people waiting for you to make a mistake so they can finger point then this is the place to work. There is no teamwork or team responsibility, it is constantly pointing fingers and wasting time finding out who made the mistake rather than using it as a teaching opportunity, fixing the mistake and moving on. There are specific members of teams that should not be allowed to treat team members like they do but it is overlooked by senior management if deadlines are made. There has been significant turnover due to employee dissatisfaction with the high school like drama, yet no one in HR has looked into these issues.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your people and make sure that you are teaching them. Allowing drama between teams and finger pointing is not going to make anyone productive.

I have been working at Shields Health Care Group full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, above average PTO, quality staff who want to do right by the patients, flexible hours, opportunity to pick up extra shifts often.

    Cons

Increasingly corporate mentality, less consideration given to patient care from upper management, fewer properly trained staff, inadequate time allotted for scans, employees can get over-used and burnt out.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to combine growth with the old family feel of the company and you will see your employees respond in kind. You have great people working for you who feel taken advantage of and unappreciated. Do more to acknowledge them and less superficial ploys to keep them satiated.

    Cons

The pay is much lower than the industry norm.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing.
