    Pros

Shoe carnival has always done me well. I relocated for the company and they took care of the whole thing

    Cons

There are not a whole lot to list. It’s retail so expect long hours and upset customers. Other than that nothing to complain about

    Pros

Fairly easy job, customers were cool most of the time.

    Cons

Low pay. Management was unprofessional. Pretty much forced to shove reward cards down peoples throats. If not, hours were cut.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees better. Keep the complaints to a minimum. Your job is to be a manager.

    Pros

Friendly staff, family atmosphere. Upper management is open to new ideas.

    Cons

Company is top heavy. Invests more into online sales with no payroll for brick and morter stores

    Advice to Management

Stop having unrealistic expectations for employees unless you give more payroll to the stores in order to accomplish everything and take care of customers

I worked at Shoe Carnival full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Extremely long hours of work with little reward except personal satisfaction. Senior level Vice Presidents are simply there to make themselves rich and have little regard for subordinates.

    Cons

Senior management are not people oriented and the culture is demoralizing. Very few rewards to management at lower levels. No commitment to people that have worked their tails off for the company.

    Advice to Management

Do not go here to start a career. You will be used and abused for your efforts

    Cons

Low pay. Truck delivery days can hurt your back. Management pushes you to sign customers up for rewards program and punishes you if you aren't getting a good enough percent.

    Cons

the way the product is flowed into the store.

    Advice to Management

Learn to flow the product in better. Stop marking down the shoes so much and adjust with signage. Less markdowns and let clearance be part of 1st and half.
