Friendly staff, family atmosphere. Upper management is open to new ideas.

    Cons

Company is top heavy. Invests more into online sales with no payroll for brick and morter stores

    Advice to Management

Stop having unrealistic expectations for employees unless you give more payroll to the stores in order to accomplish everything and take care of customers

I worked at Shoe Carnival full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I could work as many hours as I wanted to and the associates were cool.

    Cons

Higher management are irresponsible and inconsiderate. They only cared about old employees and treated newer employees badly. You will get overworked and under paid. Store was never organized and theft is high between August through the new year.

    Advice to Management

Hire in professional management and get rid of all staff and management who don’t like change and are rude.

    Pros

    Discount on shoes and socks

    Cons

Must work holidays and weekends, terrible mid level management, unrealistic expectations of meeting sales goals using extremely annoying techniques that drive customers out, and the company as a whole has little respect for work/home life balance.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your employees, not the customers. If the employees are happier they will WANT to do a good job. Incentives go a long way.
