    I worked at Shoney's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of us that were there had 18+ years it was our first jobs we had no clue what other places treated u like or how bonuses were gifted. But we were close we were a family. We watched each other's kids grow up . I started for shoneys as a server my kids were babies in my 30's I chose management learning that huh that's manager wasn't being lazy there's a lot of crap that goes on with reports n ordering truck and cost. By the time I was in my late thirties my first job allowed me to be the boss I was general manager and with that our shoney babies were now working for shoneys it was great. Most of our kids grew up in the restaurant or listening to us rant about our jobs. My middle son that used to play waiter as a child he came to me for his first job and was awesome as a server so much so others noticed n he became a server trainer

    Cons

Keeping up with the bacon on Sunday morning breakfast bar.
    Way to much DRAMA

    Advice to Management

Don't forget where u started n how scared you were

They were a great first-time employer for me as a young adult. It was a good entry into the work place and earning money I could use throughout my teenage years.

    Cons

There was a lawsuit during my tenure at the company due to a lack of adequate break time for their employees. The lawsuit was settled and the company has since corrected this issue.

    I worked at Shoney's part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Mostly pleasant coworkers, scheduling flexibility, good work-life balance. As a waitress the hours are few but the money is good.

    Cons

Slowing sales at times, something that might get one person in trouble may not get someone else in trouble.

    Advice to Management

Take more opinions of your employees, servers especially, into consideration. Frequent menu changes aren't always a good thing, just as having too many choices can be a bad thing too.
