    Pros

Good benefits, great work. Work life balance is possible if you work for the right people.

    Cons

Not much sense of community or coworker support. The firm is becoming more "corporate" and losing its close-knit feel.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Shook Hardy & Bacon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, fast paced environment, located centrally in KCMO and has a very diverse group that you will work with.

    Cons

All depends on the department... If you are in certain departments, you will enjoy your job and there are other departments where the turnover is high and everyone is trying to get out or are very sad and angry people

    Advice to Management

Lawyers need to remember that every staff member in that law firm helps you to be a good lawyer. Without the staff, you would not be able to fight your cases. Also, if you have a high turnover in your department, listen to why people are leaving and take some action.

I have been working at Shook Hardy & Bacon

    Pros

Employees treated very good. Benefits are outstanding. Location is great. Our department has very good computer equipment. Lots of vacation time.

    Cons

ADP is our time management software. Not much room for growth. Plenty of "lifers" planning on staying here for 30+ years.

    Advice to Management

Management structure is a little odd. I think it works though. I've heard partners make more here than most other firms in the US.
