"Worst job I've ever had. I've been working for the last 15+ years. I wouldn't even take this job if I was homeless."

I worked at Shopko Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None. You got a paycheck that's if the managers didn't try to adjust and skim time off each day to save on payroll.

    Cons

Prejudice and demeaning supervisors. Will talk to you like you a dog in front of other employees and customers. Will often get things thrown at you or by you if something wasn't fix. Upper management gossip and never assisted you. Contacted human resources about concerns nothing done. Only African American there. Contacted EOC was investigating but I got the hell out before they got done. Not like anyone was going to stand up for me anyway.

    Advice to Management

You need to go back to school and take a class in customer service and learn some respect. I wouldn't talk to animal like some of you talk to your employees. Pretty sad.

    Pros

The company has a great business model. Locating in rural areas under serviced by large companies.

    Cons

As the company has expanded it has lost it moral compass. The focus now has gone to the short term bottom line. The customer experience and employees are no longer important.

    Advice to Management

Get a new CEO that understands how to run a company.

I worked at Shopko Stores part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I can honestly say there are no "pros" that come from working for this company, unless you are planning on working in the corporate office...

    Cons

Underpaid, overworked, HR department does nothing to help mistreated employees, lack of good management and a very poor corporate office which only cares about exceeding last year's profits.

    Advice to Management

Demand corporate restructuring. A majority of managers that I know personally are actively looking for other jobs because of the pressures the corporate office's puts management under.

    Some hours. Nice stores.

    Cons

Less hours, not enough hours and pay
