    Pros

Coworkers tend to become friends here, and stay friends. That's why you see two stars here as opposed to one.

    Cons

70 percent of the people hired this past year, including myself, are no longer there. That should tell you something.

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't care about anybody's advice, so it's a draining exercise in futility to offer it.

    Pros

My experience with shoplet was good overall. First and foremost the people there are great. The culture has improved a great deal. The job is easy. Free lunch on Wednesday and free breakfast Monday and Friday. This is a great place for someone getting out of college looking to get experience under there belt or for someone who needs a job till something better comes along. The Managers are cool no micro managing going on. However it obvious that they are trying to figure out there position themselves. But regardless it's good overall. There are bonus incentives as well as company outings. You get commissions almost immediately.

    Cons

This is a young company not much maturity from the college graduates. There is no room for growth. The pay is low hard to survive on but the commission helps a little but not much. The average customer service position pays 30k sales position pays 35k. I negotiated and got my pay pushed up a bit more but I believe if you pay good people will stay longer. The commission is horrible. 1% on existing account 2% on new business 5% for promotional business (no one ever gets that). The system for commissions is rigged. You have to attach your self to an account to get paid. After 30 days if they don't buy you get taken off that account. You basically spend half your time checking to see if your still on your accounts. The system is such that it's impossible to make it past a certain amount. It's rigged for the companies benefit. Turnover is huge. Most people quit. When I was there 10 people including the vp that hired me quit. Customer service is horrible they don't know what they are doing. I lost a lot of customers due to this. It's a churn and burn scenario here people come and go.

    Advice to Management

Fire everyone in customer service. And hire quality people one by one. You have to pay more ! And stop this rigged commission scam. If someone is bringing on accounts they shouldn't have to worry about getting taken off the account. Bottom line is if you pay better people will work harder for you. The culture has improved tremendously so keep that going.

    Pros

Free bagels on Friday, if you consider that a pro?

    Cons

The company does not invest enough in employees. Sales Rep's starting salary is $30K, which is laughable. Was conned into thinking that they offer a "top tier" benefits package. Medical alone is over 250 a month which comes out of your pay. Most real company's don't even charge half of that. The turnover rate is crazy. Always a revolving door. The company can't keep any of their valuable employees because they don't pay them what they are worth, This is prob attributed to the cheap CEO. Also beware of fake reviews on here, EVERY POSITIVE REVIEW IS FAKE. I know for a fact that one of the senior managers spends time every week writing fake reviews, and trying to take down the negative ones. Oh, and the cherry on top...air conditioning would constantly break down during summer months making it unbearable to sit at your desk.

My advice, get in...AND GET OUT!

    Advice to Management

    Pay employee's what they're worth.

    Pros

Young employees, lots of talent in the building. You'll likely make some friends here. Free bagels on Friday. For recent grads and people in need of work experience this place could be a good crash course in office culture.

    Cons

Incredibly high turnover, low morale, constant fear of job loss, unethical business practices, no benefits, long hours, schizophrenic management. When I tell people stories about this place they ask "Are you writing this down?"

    Advice to Management

You should really be looking for other jobs.

    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at Shoplet.com full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The position is fine if you are in a bind and need to pay bills while interviewing. They are not able to monitor each lunch hour taken by every employee, therefore you can take long breaks. You are not asked to work very hard and the expectations are very low. Co-workers are friendly and fun. Everytime the CEO is away (Fridays in the summer and about 3-4 weeks a year) the office is very relaxed and fun.

    Cons

It is a small, private company which is ruled with an iron fist by the CEO. There are bonuses and incentives given, however not obtainable. The CEO will find every reason to not pay his employees. Everyone tip toes around the office in hopes to not get on the CEO's bad side. This makes for a very sour, toxic work environment. They go through every e-mail and move that you make. All phone calls are recorded, and camera surround the office. Not a great place to work for any longer than you have to.

    Advice to Management

    Get out!

    Pros

Shoplet is great for those fresh out of college.
Co-workers are great - decent work environment.
Right opportunity for those who know how to play the "game". Perception is everything. With a positive perception which unfortunately involves keeping your mouth shut in regards to employee discrimination (payroll, commission, etc), you will be granted extended employment.

    Cons

Shoplet.com offers very low salaries and has a disorganized commission structure. The CEO/ Founder gets the final "look" at the commission payouts, and coincidentally above average payouts are always a battle to receive. Questioning commission payouts usually leads to them having a bad perception of you which leads to termination.

Shoplet has a history of using employee ideas, feedback, or achievements without proper reward. Most of the company's biggest accounts/achievements were from the blood, sweat, and tears of employees who were then terminated instead of being rewarded accordingly.

Their company structure is designed to take away your hard earned accounts, thus limiting your sales which leads to termination.

    Advice to Management

Grow a spine! All the Senior VP's are six figure puppets. The CEO/ Founder runs the company like a dictatorship, and refuses to take any feedback from the executive board, especially in regards to boosting employee morale. The CEO is a smart individual however, he lacks people skills. A Shoplet employee is a lowly number in his eyes.
