I have been working at Shoppers Drug Mart (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good hours if you do the work, good relations with the management, always get my work done, I always smile

    Cons

Bad pay, expects one person to do everything, other employees don't pull their own weight and lazy, they don't care

    Advice to Management

It's nice that they have their favorite employees that they rely on, but it would be nice to not have one person be expected to do everything and run around like a crazy person

I worked at Shoppers Drug Mart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discount was great, and so were the employees! I loved coming into work to see all of the new products that we would be selling, and it was so easy to buy what I needed because I was already there.

    Cons

Management was terrible. It was really difficult to get them to hire new people or get shifts covered. I would argue frequently with my bosses and that wasn't great at all.

    Advice to Management

I would say, hire the amount of workers needed, and don't overwork your employees. I would prioritize my school before work, and they weren't very encouraging of that.

    Pros

its a job it pays if you get hours i guess but really the customers are nice and fun to be around

    Cons

the managers expect so much out of you on an unreasonable level and only want to make themselves look like theyve done a lot

    Advice to Management

try not to use your employees like they are tools but instead like human beings

I worked at Shoppers Drug Mart part-time

    Pros

30% discount is great! The culture depends on the direct store management. Usually stores have a higher turn over in larger cities, in small towns the store staff generally stay.

    Cons

Many stores are open 24 hours which would result in a constant in a flexible schedule, but night shifts could be in the works.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to hire more full time permanent staff. In order for the store to operate properly, your staff need a lot of working knowledge of processes that many can only achieve once working more hours.
