I have been working at Shoppers Drug Mart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun colleagues, mostly pleasant work environment, friendly customers from time to time, good opportunities to grow within the company, and the staff discount is generous.

    Cons

Position is a lot of responsibility for lower pay, sometimes feel unappreciated or overworked with little to no recognition or compensation. Sometimes customers become verbally abusive, or make it very difficult to maintain a calm and friendly disposition. Little to no support from management, for the most part, as the customers' ultimate satisfaction is usually the goal.

    Advice to Management

Implement better wages for supervisors, as they are responsible for many functions throughout the store, including opening and closing procedures.. Add more relief and support (ie: better training opportunities daily, and allocate more time to train staff properly so that not only a select few staff members are capable of completing certain tasks; build a more well-rounded and capable team).

    Pros

I have been working for this company for almost 10 years. Gradual pay raises, decent commission. The company as a whole is wonderful. Great staff discounts.

Hours are all over the place and sometimes can be difficult making plans within every day life. Difficult to move up in the company.

I have been working at Shoppers Drug Mart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The job isn't to hard when you have a good associate/manager that treats their employee's nicely and recognize the work you do. You also get a store discount which is pretty handy.

    Cons

Repetitive and you stand all day long. Also, their are a lot of customers with little common sense who will try and argue everything.
