I worked at Shoprite Supermarkets part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy going work environment. Flexible hours, decent pay when properly staffed.

    Cons

At times may be understaffed and the burden falls onto present staff without form of compensation for doing the work load of 2 - 3 staff total.

    Advice to Management

Should find a way to better compensate the staff that put in their young years into this company whenever they cover for the work of many others.

    Pros

Every Friday the schedule is updated as well as you get paid (Thursdays for direct deposit), semi-flexible scheduling, first-hand at customer service, you get to be part of a union.

    Cons

If you work up to 6 hours you get only a 15 minute break, no benefits at all (you're literally treated like just another customer), you only get a 30 minute lunch break when you work over 6 hours, managers choose your breaks/lunch times, you stand for long periods of time, rude/dumb customers literally all the time, union fees deducted from weekly paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Literally this place isn't worth your effort, it will drain you. It's worth it if you're seeking quick paychecks, other than that, zilch.

I worked at Shoprite Supermarkets (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Great start for a first job.

    Cons

Not enough hours (I had 20 hours spread across 5 days working 4 hours a day)

    Advice to Management

No advice really. Maybe it would be nice for employees to have a discount

I have been working at Shoprite Supermarkets part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great co-workers some nice customers that really make you think that working there isnt so bad after all.

    Cons

some very rude customers management is all over the place. no one is ever on the same page. real headache to get any kind of advancement.

    Advice to Management

treat your employees better. give them something to come back to work for everyday. to many rude people in and out the store that doesnt mean the managers should be the same.
