I have been working at Shure full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Work schedule is pretty flexible for some departments.

    Cons

The company goes out of its way to pay just average salaries and you get a minimum pay increase every year no matter how hard you bust your butt. Bonuses are not available to everyone and are secretive. No room for growth in certain departments, most opportunities are based on who you know. Company has lost focus on core products in favor of unsustainable growth in new markets. Setting sales and profit records year...

    Advice to Management

Restructure pay incentives, involve everyone in your bonus structure and get rid of your secret program. Minimize cronyism. Refocus on product development in core areas. Stop trying to grow so fast.

I worked at Shure full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great company with market-leading and innovative products, very good work-life balance for most employees, competitive benefits, family work atmosphere.

    Cons

Company became very political in the last couple of years especially after the passing away of Mrs. Shure, "ethnic-cleansing" in certain departments, if not unequal treatment with minority employees.

    Advice to Management

Make Shure great again like during the Mr. & Mrs. Shure years.

I have been working at Shure full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Good work/life balance. A number of good people work there. Core products are solid.

    Cons

Staff is growing, but some responsibilities aren't necessary. A lot of layers

    Advice to Management

Make sure achievements are recognized and identify who does the actual work.

I have been working at Shure full-time

    Pros

Pros are that everyone is generally friendly, they have some cool perks like gym reimbursement.

    Cons

There is a lot of politics and a lot of lifers at this company that makes it harder for internal promotion. Also, they are very old school with letting you work remotely.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent about what's going on behind closed doors, for example, we were never notified what the requirements were to be eligible to receive a transportation reimbursement for the company's recent move to downtown chicago. Also, it's unfair that non-manager's don't have the option to drive to the downtown office. The train isn't bad but did you consider the fact that we will have to be taking it in the winter...

    Pros

Good products, good quality, healthy company

    Cons

Time of transition from small to big
