I have been working at Shutterfly full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free coffee and a modern office?

    Cons

It appears they are eliminating good paying jobs. Who wants to be a contract employee indefinitely?

I worked at Shutterfly part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work schedule allows for plenty of time off or available overtime if wanted.

    Cons

The inability to get hired on because of the position held. Haven seen people come in and get hired on after only being there a short time and me being there for years was discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting your personal friends and neighbors and promote the real quality employees.

I worked at Shutterfly full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a nice place to work, but not during the peak season when seasonal contractors are hired. Money is good because of the many extra hours, but it gets exhausting having 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. Supportive coworkers and free products. Used to have a fantastic break room: atm, vending, lots of seating, and microwaves/coffee makers, but I hear it is not like that anymore.

    Cons

Very fast paced and chaotic, or at least for someone that needs to learn everything in a few weeks and then apply it instantly in the next three months. They say quality is the most important thing, but at the end quantity takes precedence.

I worked at Shutterfly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Employees were dedicated and hardworking

    Cons

A lot of unethical and illegal HR practices being done. One of the meanest, unprofessional HR Managers that I've ever worked with (finally left the company in 2012).

    Advice to Management

Get off your "high-horse" and stop mistreating contractors and partners that are there to help your business. The aggressive, condescending, bullying is so unprofessional, and I can only hope I don't see any of you working in a company I move to.

I have been working at Shutterfly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive coworkers and free product credits.

    Cons

I don't recommend working here because it's a very elitist environment. Some people in management don't have any idea how to do their job correctly. On top of everything else, most of the customer service employees are sub-contracted under Corestaff services, which is a temp agency. The company doesn't value each employee enough to give everyone the benefits they deserve for all of their hard work.

    Advice to Management

Make every employee a permanent employee with benefits, and maybe the turnover rate wouldn't be so high as it is now. The company motto is to share life's joy, so share it. Make employees want to come to work every day and do the best they can.

I worked at Shutterfly as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Had the opportunity to operate some unique print equipment and develop new technical skills. Pay was adequate. Free popcorn at meetings and free fountain drinks anytime.

    Cons

Company culture a bit askew. Felt like a heathen in a mormen temple. Very clique. If your seasonal pack it up Jan 2nd. No opportunities unless your a direct hire. On the slightly sadistic side, attending mandatory company meetings that featured a rehash and slideshow of permanent employee only parties was bewildering. If you're a temp make sure you have robotic qualities. You'll fit right in.

    Advice to Management

Provide the necessary tools to the seasonal hires to be productive and achieve an elevated quality of work.
