I have been working at Shuttle America part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule if you have seniority. Love the flight benefits. Lots of day trips if you live in base which is a plus. Flight crews are nice and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Long days especially if there are delays with weather. Trip credit on the multi day trips are low. Heath insurance is very expensive but very good.

    Advice to Management

    Give us back our bonuses!

    Pros

    Good start for FA experience

    Cons

Not enough forward movement to retire there. Get in, get some experience, and get out.

    Advice to Management

Have better attendance policies, for your employees, medical should not be counted as an attendance issue if the employee has a doctor, and supporting documentation to back up the absences. Even company approved medical leaves are counted against you. No one wants to lose their job because of unforeseen medical issues, that inconvenience the company.

I have been working at Shuttle America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are awesome! Great! Being a flight attendant is a great job in it self.

    Cons

Don't expect phone calls back or timely response to emails. Don't expect to understand how your pay works. When it come to understanding pay and or how to use your benefits if a problem arises expect to be given the run around. Management is petty. Oh! And a monthly fee that I never authorized nor was explained in training is taken out of my checks, I asked multiple departments about this and never received an actual explanation.

I worked at Shuttle America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

At the time Shuttle America was growing, however due to pilot shortages from not offering a contract for over 12 years the airline is suffering and aircraft are now being moved from one certificate to the Republic Certificate, there is little company growth however, many flight attendants are leaving for other carriers, resulting in a lot of movement. There is no min hour requirement, so you can work as little or as much as you like offering a lot of flexibility once you have senority and can swap and drop. The CEO Bryan Bedford is a smart cookie, however he doesn't seem to understand that the FAs are the hugest part of the operation when it comes to customer service.

    Cons

Management is rarely supportive. They would take the word of another rather than support their own. Usually around the 5 year mark, they begin to look for problems with crewmembers and find a way to terminate them. There is no employee recognition program, but they are very quick to point out problems or things done wrong. The pay is okay, however the current contract really needs to be amended for a number of reasons.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge your superstars, recognize when your employees do something good. Take the word of your employee and support them in everything they do. A happy work environment means happy employees, happy employees leads to happy customers which leads to happy shareholders.

    Pros

Not many that can come to mind.

    Cons

Horrible Training Dept. They don't know what they are doing themselves.

    Advice to Management

Really invoke your back to the employee satisfaction principles. What a crock!
