I worked at Sia Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Sia Partners is a fast-growing and innovative company. Senior Management has a clear grasp of market trends and great strategic foresight. During my time at the company, it has expanded into multiple new markets / areas and launched exciting new initiatives (i.e. Consulting 4.0) to meet the demands of tomorrow. The U.S. practice specifically has very talented individuals at all levels. There is a constant stream...

    Cons

Currently, the U.S. practice primarily focuses on projects within the banking / financial services verticals (i.e. Risk Management, Compliance, IT / Cybersecurity, Regulatory Reporting, Stress testing, Loan Operations, etc.), although it is very much in the process of expanding its capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in employees to ensure they have all the tools to succeed and keep growing the business!

I have been working at Sia Partners full-time

    Pros

Great upward mobility. Good firm culture. Firm has fun seminars and happy hours. Management is open to discussion. Hard work goes a long way here. Good work life balance.

    Cons

Work on diversifying outside of financial services. Senior managers should focus on getting new business not billing at clients.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep expanding into other sectors.

      Pros

The company and management is very open to new ideas, and implicates junior staff on many different subjects such as business development, marketing, and other very interesting internal projects. Client Assignments are also various and help you learn a lot quickly.

      Cons

Depending on your expertise some projects might be less interesting, but overall no major con !

I have been working at Sia Partners full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Good French/European operation; annual party in exotic location.

      Cons

The company is made up primarily of young talented graduates, most of whom realize after a couple of years that they are being taken advantage of and move on. The quality of the work simply doesn’t matter to senior US management and is generally well beneath the capability of the work force. This is somewhat explained by the profit sharing arrangement that is highly lucrative in favor of the leader of the US. The overall...

      Advice to Management

There are several senior managers that are sycophantic to US Leadership - these individuals should be seriously evaluated by the founder if he wants his company to proposer in the way he desires. Remember a fish rots from the head. Get on the ground intelligence that is transparent and performance based and disregard the rhetoric. Evaluate people on what they do and not what they say they are going to do. Review the...

I have been working at Sia Partners full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The 'soldiers' within the firm are all great folks, who are young and talented. Unfortunately, they are being set up for failure by a maniacal CEO.

      Cons

The firm does not really have any true identity. All clients were inherited from the french practise and no senior management does much in the way of bringing new clients. Their bonuses are stolen off the sweat of the junior people efforts and discretionary bonuses are the worst i have ever seen. The CEO in the Us is the biggest problem. He is basically a dictator. There are no formal policies or rules anyone is expected...

      Advice to Management

You must release the head of the USA practise. He is a risk to the company and he does not know how to manage a business or people. I have never seen a more incompetent individual leading a company. how this was allowed to happen is a poor reflection of the partner's decision ability.
