I have been working at Sibley Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Able to use my talents and meet people who appreciate them. Help to promote the company mission and reputation in the community.

    Cons

Not able to get salary that is comparable to my skill level. Not noticed or rewarded for the contribution to the company.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people with respect and take to heart what they tell you about how the department is really running, when no one is around.

I have been working at Sibley Memorial Hospital (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free parking is great, but that's about it. Just had to meet a minimum of 20 words so I wrote out the rest of this.

    Cons

The expression "too many cooks in the kitchen" is spot on for this place. It's truly one of the worst places I've ever worked. Making the simplest decision turns into a big to-do and everyone is so sensitive.

    Advice to Management

    Cut down on the bureaucracy.

I worked at Sibley Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for training/education, executive team likes to implement ideas from staff, innovation hub has a bunch of eager millennials who can help with projects that clinical staff does not have time to flush out. New facility is beautiful and state of the art. Patients are well cared for. Cafeteria food is actually pretty amazing and not too expensive.

    Cons

Too VP heavy, and too much wage gap between clinical staff and executive/management team. COLA is only 1.5%, no merit increases, salary for clinical staff is not competitive, some upper management people made sexist comments that made me uncomfortable, but were only addressed by HR with a laugh, a wink, and a nod. 401K contributions are only matched with minuscule employer contributions. Sibley offers an amazing MHA program for employees, but with only $3,600 a year in tuition assistance, the program is cost prohibitive for anyone who isn't already earning 6 figures.

    Advice to Management

3% COLA at least, and match 5% of 401K contributions.
