    Pros

Leaders here also understand the relationship between failure and success, which in-turn fosters an environment where individuals can grow. This is an aspect that does not exist everywhere.

Management knows talent, and they seek to both establish, and maintain, relationships with them.

    Training is offered to employees.

    Cons

Tools and knowledgebase-related assets could be improved; but, at the same time, because they need to be improved, that is where growth opportunities exist.

    Advice to Management

Continue to believe that failure is always an option, and SICOM, and more specifically its employees, will continue to grow. In turn, SICOM will prosper.

I worked at Sicom Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was one overnight supervisor who was a pleasure to work with. He welcomed your questions and was always there to help. Unfortunately I only worked with him 2 days out of the week.

    Cons

Understaffed overnight tech support. One supervisor had no technical knowledge. She was a glorified secretary. Any situation where I needed help was a nightmare. There was no accountability for the day shift techs. Calls answered in the afternoon, when customer service dept was fully staffed, would go unnoticed and left for the bare bones overnight tech crew.

    Advice to Management

Take time to invest in more training for overnight staff and hold day shift more accountable.

I worked at Sicom Systems (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Co workers will be some of the nicest people you'll meet anywhere
    - Decent pay
    - Decently flexible schedule depending on the team you are on
    - Supervisors also some of the nicest people who are genuinely interested in helping you move forward in the company.

    Cons

    - Training is bad/non existent
    - Pay is decent only after you've waited sometimes 4 to 5 months after you were supposed to get a review. Even then they low ball you.
    - As mentioned in pros schedule is only flexible if you get on the right team.
    - Nepotism is rampant
    - Upper management doesn't share the same interest that the Supervisors have.
    - Team Leads are more often than not a hollow position and not representative of product knowledge or ability to actually lead.
    - Internal promotion is extremely rare and usually given to third party from outside the company.
    - High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within! There are good people working for this company that are breaking their backs for an opportunity. Having that opportunity outsourced is soul crushing and the reason the turnover rate is so high.

I worked at Sicom Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Other than getting a check every other week and adding experience on my resume I can honestly say I find no other pro.

    Cons

This is a very unprofessional working environment. The service they provide to their customers is below average. The management staff is horrible. Favoritism is a normal business practice. Their pay is below business standard and I can go on and on.

    Advice to Management

You need an entirely new management staff. You also need to tap into the talent you have already hired and implement and document SOP's.

I have been working at Sicom Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Performance and hard work are recognized. Flexible shifts/hours, ability to increase pay with technical scorecards. Opportunity for advancement if you are willing to go the extra mile. Most Supervisors care about their people. Christmas bonus.

    Cons

Very fast paced environment, high call volume (can generate free lunches). Support is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, so you will have to work weekends sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Encourage time for training. Focus on keeping spirits up when volume is heavy. More gift cards.

-Procedures and policies change quickly with little or know follow through
    -Favoritism and nepotism runs rampant
-Easy to get stuck in a position with no development plan
-Growing faster than they can sustain
-Newer employees are not being sufficiently trained and are not held accountable for repeated mistakes

    Advice to Management

Improve quality assurance and educate your staff better and on a continual basis

I have been working at Sicom Systems full-time

    Pros

A lot of these reviews are for support tech positions, but I'm part of R&D so I have a much more positive different experience. There's lots of room for work/life balance, and I would generally describe it as a low-pressure environment.

    Cons

There's not really much room for advancement -- once on the R&D team, there's not really anywhere to go but right where you are. In addition, I've noticed that sometimes one hand doesn't seem to know what the other is doing, so to speak. I've seen people work on projects long after they have been officially called off, without really knowing about it.

    Advice to Management

There really needs to be more organizational structure so stuff doesn't get lost in the woodwork -- I think this is getting better, though.
