I have been working at Siemens Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, competitive pay, I have a great manager which allows me to succeed.

    Cons

Old culture that is slow with keeping up with the rest of the business world. They are consistently 10 years behind on the latest trends and technology.

    Advice to Management

Accept that the world is changing and it is time to catch up. Concepts like working at home and every other Friday off are starting to become standard practices but have not been considered in Siemens Energy.

I have been working at Siemens Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexible hours, well known company, many job openings at a given time, high visibility with upper management, they have good benefits

    Cons

there is a large pay gap even among the same job role, the only thing that matters is who you know, low pay compared to industry averages

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, be more flexible and don't just do things the same way that they have always been done

    Pros

Good employees who are generally willing to put in the effort to work. Being part of a global company allows you to move to different locations/divisions. Medical benefits are good.

    Cons

Always looking to make more money and cut costs. No real growth opportunities unless someone dies, quits, or retires. US positions are now being filled with people from Germany. Culture differences are more prevelant now.

I worked at Siemens Energy as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good level of professionalism, very organized. Great job, good perks, good programs within Siemens for employees for giving back to community etc

    Cons

HR department is hard to get in touch with, payroll issues took months to resolve. Not as friendly a work environment as Yahoo! Microsoft etc.

    Advice to Management

Be more helpful to incoming hires

    Pros

Challenging professional career path with high visibility in global organization. At times demanding, but performance is recognized and generally rewarded.

    Cons

Giant resource pool is sometimes hard to tap ("If Siemens only knew what Siemens knows"). The company seeks out top talent (high GPA engineering grads) and offers average starting compensation. However, long term rewards pay out over time.

    Advice to Management

    Reinstitute global newsletter.
