I have been working at Siemens Healthineers as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

I receive very meaningful work, and both of the managers I have worked with have provided me with adequate responsibility and flexibility. My managers do not micromanage, but they trust I will get my work done in an appropriate time frame.

    Cons

It can be a bit of a learning curve when coming on-board, which is expected in any position.

I have been working at Siemens Healthineers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stability is the number one pro. This company has been around for a long time for a reason. The products they sell hold up.

    Cons

Need more work from home flexibility as well as some more internal opportunists to move around to. Other than that nothing else.

    Advice to Management

Continue to innovate internal processes to keep up with the demands of sales!

I worked at Siemens Healthineers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and work environment; decent work-life balance

    Cons

Too much focus and concern with emulating GE Healthcare; very German-centric company and top-down management structure

    Advice to Management

German leadership needs to make a strategic decision on what they want to do with the Healthcare unit and make it. They have been vacillating on this decision for several years now.

I have been working at Siemens Healthineers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits; most departments offer the ability to work remotely or from home when needed.

    Cons

Company demands exorbitant amount of work hours and there are limited advancement opportunities if you are not German. Company communications are vague and strictly managed to keep everyone heads down while major changes are being planned, and major announcement come as complete surprises to employees regularly. Communication is poor overall.

    Advice to Management

Speak honestly and give your employees credit for their loyalty.

I worked at Siemens Healthineers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was a great job, but then Cerner purchased our company and ruined it. They discriminate against older workers. They do not value employee retention or work/life balance.

    Cons

    No regard for work/life balance.

    Pros

Great opportunity to try different roles. Great benefits and decent pay. Big company supporting lots of sectors.

    Cons

Poor senior management that lost their bead on the market. IT division purchased by Cerner after long record of losing market share

    Advice to Management

Cerner management needs to utilize the talent over the products and there are many good people.

I worked at Siemens Healthineers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was with Siemens for over a decade and was recently laid off. Pros would be the office itself is very nice and environmentally friendly. Employees are very friendly and training is normally encouraged.

    Cons

Lack of communication by management. Almost a "secretive" attitude. Used to be a fun place to work with management encouraging morale and internal promotion. Now it's all about management versus employees with most higher positions going to people either outside the department or company who "has an in" with upper management.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating employees as if they wouldn't understand the way the business is going and let them KNOW what is actually going on. This is a business, not a prison. Stop treating employees as if they have done something to be punished for. The "what have you done for me lately" attitude is a morale BUSTER and makes employees unhappy and unwilling to give their all as it doesn't seem appreciated.
