I worked at Siemens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good benefits
    - Siemens is a large company and you get to meet a lot of good people

    Cons

    - Products are terrible. Difficult to use and even worse to adapt.
    - Management is oblivious to the most basic challenges of the employees. Toxic environment driven by quarterly fires.
    - Employee training is one of the worst I've seen in the Twin Cities. Onboarding was a self discovery mission and skills development is expected to happen by osmosis. Very unfriendly to employees and awful leadership at the top.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be OSI. Come up with your own ideas and get some leadership training.

I worked at Siemens as an intern

    Pros

Intern Project was fun and enjoyed meeting the other young people

    Cons

Was switched locations last minute (literally across the country with a month to find new housing), had me in an office where the people didnt talk much and were very antisocial. Manager was distant and hard to talk to. IT was impossible to get to help

    Pros

Good benefits, good salary, pretty flexible work live balance.

    Cons

Management is extremely poor, lack of preparation for inevitable events.

    Advice to Management

Just because someone has success in sales, doesn't mean they'll have success in management.

  5. "Great company, local management is lacking"

    I worked at Siemens full-time

    Pros

The company offers great benefits and training. They invest allot of time and resources to train the new people to be as affective as they can be as soon as possible.

    Cons

My experience was one that I did not feel like I was able to ask any questions because I did not know how it would affect my future with the company.

    Advice to Management

Come along side the new hires to make sure they are catching on like they need to so you can help them to be successful because it will make the company successful.

    Pros

Salary was acceptable, profit sharing, and vacation

    Cons

Big company, doesn't care about employees, no reason to get involved because it won't help you during hard times

    Advice to Management

When reducing workforce, actually look at the value of the employees, reward employees for going above and beyond their duties.
