I worked at Siena Hotel Spa Casino (Less than a year)

    Pros

Beautifully re-designed property on the Truckee River in Reno, NV, A Maryse Nicole design fabulous designer now out of Palm Springs, CA. Loved working there, Great Team!! Scott Short Business Development was a God send to the property!

    Cons

New owners changed name, took out all gaming, such a shame.

    Advice to Management

More outdoor space. Allow Thersa more leeway for bigger and more unique events!

Not enough women in leading roles

    Pros

Decent place to work...being right on the river was nice. Supervisors were cool.

    Cons

Not enough pay for the amount of work I was doing.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Siena Hotel Spa Casino full-time

    Pros

Good pay. Good health insurance. Paid vacation. Paid lunch. Flexible with scheduling. Small property and all the employees are like family.

    Cons

High turn over. Decorator is allowed to spend all this money on ridiculous stuff. Owner lets Mickey Mouse management run things with little or no input.

    Advice to Management

Stop wasting money by comping yourselves meals, hotel rooms and suites at the baseball games. Don't turn away local business because you have a personal problem with someone.

    Pros

Beautiful riverfront property. It would be a shame to see it close once again.

    Cons

The decorator claims to be owners wife and runs the place while she and the GM hate one another and drag employees into battles. No professionalism. High turnover rates. Management openly does not like locals. Low morale. Owner knows and ignores all issues yet wonders why property is failing.

    Advice to Management

Should go back to square one and hire locals with good reputations who understand Reno market and local buying habits. Value locals and don't call them "dirty scumbags"

    Pros

The pay was the best part of working here. It was huge so it was easy to get literally and in your work.

    Cons

Too strict with rules and regulations. If your a Vegas person it might be a good fit but it definitely was not for me.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees more freedom to do their job without checking on them. More time off and flexibility with scheduling.
