I have been working at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great values and morals that are shared with every employee. Hard to beat the benefits (and the beer)!

    Cons

Unorganized communication could use some work but hey, whose business couldn’t?

I have been working at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co full-time

    Pros

The benefits here are insane! 401K contribution matching up to 10% of your income, profit sharing, on-site clinic and daycare, massage therapy, acupuncture, onsite healthy lunch markets, work boot allowances, health insurance with great premiums, FSA's to help with medical costs or daycare, gym membership subsidies, and a case of beer with every paycheck!

    Cons

Everyone wants to work for SNBC, so they can get away with paying people less than their position may pay at other companies.

I worked at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co part-time

    Pros

Other part time workers were great people.

Some Sierra Nevada employees are nice and want to provide a great experience for everyone that is involved.

    Cons

Some of the leads (Sierra Nevada full-time employees wearing blue shirts) were very unprofessional. They made several inappropriate remarks about the customers during the working hour and was rude to the part time workers.

Lacks of leadership and management. The work was unplanned and unorganized. Often you will sign up for one role but then would put on a completely different role that you did not ever agree to do.

Three of the part time workers who worked in the kitchen were cut due to sharp edges. The floor was slippery but we were never told to wear non-slip shoes beforehand. In addition, the kitchen crew did not clean the dishes well at all.

    Advice to Management

Have a solid plan and set the roles appropriate for everyone beforehand. Ask the worker first before assigning that person to a new role. Have someone with leadership skills to lead the people and clean your dishes well.

I have been working at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great product, great brand, great benefits. Family owned and operated and they know and care about their employees.

    Cons

Terrible internal communication. Last minute decision changes by senior managers cause chaos. Much wasted effort and lack of work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Bring in senior managers with real marketing experience and implement a strategic planning process.

I have been working at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing product and mission. Nothing can beat this company. Their product is far superior and their production process will beat and current brewery.

    Cons

They are going through some industry pains with no answers in sight. There is a lot of pivoting that makes prior work out of date.

    Advice to Management

Communicate directives clearer and more support for certain teams.

I have been working at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people at the Sierra Nevada Taproom are a unique crew, and work well together.
The facilities are beautiful, and very well maintained.
Great perks for part time workers, including discount in the gift shop and opportunities to get free cases of beer!
The management is flexible with scheduling, so maintaining a set weekly schedule is possible, as long as you're willing to vary shift times (AM vs. PM)
The cut of tips shared by Taproom Support is almost always large enough to bring the low base-pay to a reasonable hourly wage.

    Cons

The work is extremely strenuous. This place is like a restaurant on steroids, so busy days can keep you moving, lifting, and stooping for 8-10 hours.
Schedules are sometimes posted as late as 36 hours before the week begins, meaning you may not know Monday's schedule until Saturday afternoon or so.
