    Good pay

Jan 10, 2022 - Operator in Quincy, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Employees work together well. If you’re dedicated there is room for advancement. The pay is great for a non professional.

    Cons

Lacking in tradesmen. It shows when machines breakdown and the operator doesn’t have the skills to fix it. Mid Management is ineffective at communication. Shift supervisors are over worked and often lose motivation to effectively lead. Severely short handed. The decent pay doesn’t make up for the lack of moral that trickles from the top down.

    Pros

    Good pay for the job

    Cons

If you have chronic health problems requiring FMLA and Short term disability benefits at anytime during employment...expect to be fired and have your Health Insurance premium refunded so they don't have to pay for your doc appointments.

    Steady

May 6, 2020 - Maintenance Electrician in Lincoln, CA

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

okay health benefits, 401k with goofy match system, okay pay in 2019 @ 33.42/hr at full wage, close to 90k/yr. lots of things to learn, minimum steady 40 hours a week every week, usually more. Vacation is paid out yearly, after 1 year you get 1 week vacation, you can get up to 4 weeks yearly off after 15 years. Tools are replaced if broken, not lost or stolen. Good tech support team from other mills during the day.

    Cons

can be long days, lots of overtime, little room for advancement in electrical department, 401k goofy match 1:1 dollar on first $1000, 2:1 match for next $1000, 4:1 match for next $1000, $1750/yr if you contribute $3000. People who do the minimum get same or better treatment than those that work hard. Lots of second chances for screw ups, but not so many for hard workers. Raises are hit or miss. A lot is expected of electricians, knowledge, time, labor. Dayshift electrician is support for the nightshift. Poor communication from management. 10% of electricians quit every 8 months on average, but it comes in waves, putting a lot of stress on employees who stay.
