I have been working at Sign-a-Rama full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pros about this job compared to my last experience at a signarama franchise is that the boss at the Ken, cares about the company and cares about his product. I'm often review and repeating last minute finishing details. Its a great atmosphere for anyone who want their voice to be herd.

    Cons

Young, in the industry so there is a lot of learning, that needs to take place before its able to make the leap of being a top player in the sign game.

    Pros

Creative work. Different things to do every day. Not stuck in a cubicle, but not breaking your back all day.

    Cons

No room for advancement. Franchises, so you're at the mercy of the owner.

    Advice to Management

Reward employee's skill, not just the time they have been there. Also, if you want to keep an employee, long-term without the room for promotion, then pay them a wage they can live on.

    Pros

The work is exciting and different everyday! You get alot of customer interaction and you just enjoy the look in their faces when they see the final result. My boss is, if not THE best, is one of the best in the industry! I love working with him and my team mates!

    Cons

I have yet to run into something I don't like about working with Signarama!

    Advice to Management

Just keep up the great work!

    Pros

Great boss and nice people to work with.

    Cons

The franchisee I worked for was great, but the parent company was so concerned about getting their monthly cut and all the restrictions they put on him, that we had no wiggle room to get business done and sales made. You sell this product at this price and that's it. Left alot of potential customers without a sale because of this thinking.

    Advice to Management

Stay out of the franchisee's way and let him run his business.

    Pros

You can build great business relationships with customers. Flexible work schedule. I have become good friends with my co workers.

    Cons

The owner of the store is a racist, sexist, rude man! He is constantly breathing down my neck even when I exceed my sale goals for the week. He degrades me every chance he gets and talks down to all of the employees. The marketing methods are Horribly out of date and very repetitive and the owner is not open to trying new marketing ideas such as Facebook. I'm constantly driving around and am not compensated for my gas! The owner is always making up prices and over charging like crazy and in return we lose a lot of business. He is rude to any customer who is not "like him" on top of all that I was told on my 30 day review that after my 90 day review my pay would be going DOWN $2/hr!!!!!! So I get rewarded for exceeding my sales goals by losing money!

    Advice to Management

Keep a close eye on your franchise owners.......

    Pros

Amazing bosses! Fun employees & great sense of a start up franchise going places

    Cons

Signage is an industry you must learn through experience, there isn't a "best practices" to getting into the signage industry so the first few while was a bit more difficult. Lots of trial by error & reading plans & understanding what signage was needed and where.

    Advice to Management

Vince C. You're the man and you have a tremendous charisma that inspires your employees!
