I worked at Signal Point Systems full-time

    Pros

NONE .. there is no support from anyone

    Cons

You have to beg for training in order to do the job and Management is no help. The whole atmosphere in the officd is negative. Horrible experience!

    Advice to Management

It would help if Management knew what they were doing. How can they train someone if they dont know how to do anything.

I worked at Signal Point Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has core values in employees that are living hard times, they pull together when it is needed the most, incuding the managers. Although no longer employed, there were times that the hours were long, but the flexibility of scheduling was a huge help to me and my family. Amazed at how many people thought the company owed them something and neglected to times the company was able to get them thgouth difficult situations, personally and professionally.

    Cons

Upper management, outside of the owner needs to allow more breathing room for individuals to do their job and not look at it as a super highway that leads to one person - it takes more than one in the decision making and making the decisions happen, its a team, and should distribute evenly. Leaving the vast majority in the hands of one, given the one has very to no respect throughout the company and customer base will lead to doom and gloom.

    Advice to Management

Every person has character flaws, but you hired them for a reason, trust in that and allow them to do the job you hired them for, making independent contractors the goal only makes the company a second class staffing service.

    Pros

some day to day scheduling flexability. The owner is a awesome guy. a self made man

    Cons

lots of travel. No family life, on call 24/7 year round. , below average pay. no chance of raises. bonus promised, but never given, even after meeting requirments. no support from management. Management has a what can you do for me attitude. most managers have little to no experience in the job or of work in the field.

    Advice to Management

Hire experienced workers, pay them a decent wage, and trust them to do the job right. Stop blaming them for your mismanagement.

    Pros

Company vehicle is convenient for work life.

    Cons

Micro mange your life. Always wants more from you,as in go above and beyond your duty and then then go further but we don't do raises anymore.

    Advice to Management

Actual incentives go further than a bonus that's unobtainable.

    Pros

A lot of great people work at this company. Good Benefits package.

    Cons

A lot of not so great people work here too. Extremely micromanaged, underpaid, and technicians are worked to death. They tell you not to work over 14 hours a day, but then keep giving you "emergency calls" where you have to work over 20 hours. I know some techs who have worked over 24 hours straight. Then they get in trouble for it... They do not trust their employees, and the way that management speaks to their employees if horrible. They went through restructuring and they have lost their way.

    Advice to Management

Amazing things happen when you trust your employees and pay them what they are worth. Get off their backs and trust them to do their jobs. PAY YOUR PEOPLE BETTER!

    Pros

    Great support from other techs.

    Cons

Upper Management was trying to nickel and dime the customers to death

    Advice to Management

Leave the techs alone and let them do their work. Stop watching the GPS saddle tale all day.

I have been working at Signal Point Systems (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Co Workers that care about each other.

    Cons

The company "reconstruction" needs to be rethought...it clearly had flaws that everyone on the inside can not see buy from the outside it sticks out line a sore thumb.
No training for employees, heavy work load, no support from managers.

    Advice to Management

Understand the jobs which you are asking your employees to do. If management has never done any aspect of the position then how can they expect to truly lead a department that position is in.

If a car has bad tires, rotating them into new positions doesn't improve them on being bad tires. The same applies to people within a company.
