I have been working at Sila Solutions Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hardworking coworkers who are genuinely happy to be at work
    Fun office environment
A lot of learning and development opportunities
    Great work/life balance

    Cons

Not as many opportunities to get to meet others in the organization as I would like

I worked at Sila Solutions Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very welcoming coworkers. Nice office space (when you are not required to work at client site's). Good place to get industry experience out of school.

    Cons

Technical work gets stale and you get stuck working legacy systems. The few very senior developers snap up new interesting work if the contract is awarded at all. Work/life balance only applies if you are not directly for a client. Management constantly changes directions and priority. No advancement path for technical employees beyond mid level. Management heavily favors non-technical or semi-technical employees with the focus being on Business Consulting. High turnover and lower than average pay.

    Advice to Management

    Value your Technical people more.

    Pros

Great company that is growing and focused on investing in it's employees. Hard work does not go unnoticed.

    Cons

Some of the clients that you have to work with can be nightmarish. But that is the nature of consulting.

    Advice to Management

Continue investing in your employees and challenging them. The social activities were also a great plus.

    Pros

Very thorough recruiting & on-boarding process. From interviewing to employment, there was follow-through with every stage. Everyone has been extremely helpful - outlining expectations, resources, scheduling of on-boarding timeline and overall communication from start to finish. I feel completely set for success.

    Cons

It can be difficult ensuring everyone is on the same page through cross-offices as the company grows, but continue to invest in your people & focus on those authentic relationships.

    Advice to Management

Streamline processes throughout all of the offices and continue to remain in close contact with employees with pulse-checks on progress.

I have been working at Sila Solutions Group full-time

    Pros

    - Great work/life balance
    - Very competitive compensation
    - Senior leadership is accessible and personally vested in every employee they bring in and want everyone to achieve their personal/professional goals.
    - More focused on growing the company in a sustainable and deliberate way than chasing every dollar.
    - Excellent internal training programs and support for professional development.
    - Great company culture across all offices/staff
    - Offices are always stocked with lots of free snacks!

    Cons

    - Benefits are actually too good, which makes them expensive. Adding a high deductible option would allow for lower paycheck to paycheck costs.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing; you've built a great company that is rapidly growing and providing your staff with lots of new and interesting opportunities.

    Pros

Excellent place to build relationships with fellow technical and non-technical professionals. Client work is largely onsite and located a reasonable distance from the home offices.

    Cons

Culture of the company has shifted focus as upper management attempts to expand footprint. Lack of communication from middle management.

    Advice to Management

Require more transparency with middle management. Return focus to consultants and quality people.

    Pros

    * Nice company culture, a lot of company-wide events to bond every one
    * Interesting colleagues, easy to find someone sharing similar interests as you
    * Great work life balance
    * Work is challenging, a lot of opportunities to take initiatives
    * Managers are extremely nice and helpful, so you can start to know different industries

    Cons

    * Get feedback from management could be slow
    * Every one tries to be a project manager in the future (could be a pro, depends)
    * Too quiet in the office from Mon to Thurs
    * Not really sure where the company wants to go in the long run
    * More gov contracts and fewer commercial projects (could be a pro, depends)
    * Turn-over rate increased in the past year

    Advice to Management

    * No job title is still a weird thing.
    * More transparent especially when people get the chance to choose project not assigned a project
