    Pros

Great technology and fun people to work with.

    Cons

Health Insurance options are less than stellar and often frustrating for internal HR staff.

I worked at Silicon Graphics International as a contractor

    Pros

They are trying hard to reach the status of the namesake predecessor. Need to keep trying and get the stock growing. Good people.

    Cons

Not much. Growing pains. Tough business.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Keep growing.

I worked at Silicon Graphics International (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were great and in my team, working from home was an option when you needed to be with kids or were out sick.

    Cons

In the time I worked there, I felt like there were layoffs 1-4 times every year. It really didn't help morale to always wonder whether your job was safe. I felt like management wasn't sure which direction to go and was invested in too many different projects.

I have been working at Silicon Graphics International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has been through a lot but seems to be through the worst of it. The people are, by and large, incredibly smart, curious and helpful. Senior management is relatively new and has made a number of good changes over the past few years.

    Cons

Although necessary, the constant sense of cutting has been demoralizing. A lot of good people have left.

My local management was great. The work was good and they gave us what we needed.

    Cons

These are difficult times and the execs are having difficulty finding the right direction.

I have been working at Silicon Graphics International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some very great knowledgeable people and great teamwork to meet deadlines and difficult situations.

    Cons

SGI has gotten very heavy in the upper management and keep bringing in more execs than focusing on the employees and business direction. With the sale of SGI Manufacturing to Jabil Circuit there doesn't appear to be a solid future left for the remaining SGI people.

    Advice to Management
