    Great pay, good on travel. Classy workmates. People were trying to help each other. and not out to get ahead at the cost of others.

    Cons

    Needed to have some vision on how to harvest the best of their assets. Needed to direct the company to take advantage of more appropriate market opportunities.

    Have a broad view of the market and consider using the best minds from around the country.

    I worked at Silicon Image (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    This was here DVI and HDMI among other technologies were invented. Some managers and executives are very enthusiastic and dedicated. Great work environment and camaraderie in the early days. Help is abundant to get projects done. Great innovative video technologies.

    Cons

    Overall morale decimated with entry of new management. Company could not maintain foothold of innovation leadership and started to lose market share. Product Marketing run by Directors who can no longer find the right sales market and has extreme ego problems. Reduction in force in constant implementation and has severely impacted company morale.

    Interesting technology, decent location if you're in the Valley, breakfast on Wednesdays

    Cons

    No long term planning at all, the bonus structure is far too complicated, no strategic vision

    Advice to Management

    Too late - you've already sold the company. It would have been great if you would have fixed the problems and actually had better sales team.

    Mostly friendly environment, not too political except for a few individuals

    Cons

    Some managers care about their own growth only and team members are used as tools for that.

    Value and appreciate the talents and provide more opportunities for them.
