I worked at Silverado full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Kaiser insurance, Dental PPO, and Christmas party

    Cons

Short staff 80% of the time, no support from admin, or nurses Confidentiality n/a

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, make a thorough investigation without making friends on the floor who may take some sort of dominance. Please be as calm and collect as if someone was watching you. And not talk down to your staff. 12 cnas in the morning, because of showers, appts, family visits, licensing visits, and just for the betterment and dignity of our residents. 10 cnas at night. Sundowners is difficult for residents to understand process of eating, meds, showers, going to bed and lastly 8 overnight cnas, incontinence can cause bedridden residents more bed pressure sores. Residents tend to have difficulty going to bed, need the guidance of the cna to help them back to their bed. Two CNA per room when changing, to make resident feel secure and most of all giving them dignity. Night changing can be confusing and may lead to aggression because of fear.
