I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was decent and the work was very straight forward. Easy to learn and not difficult to do for 8 hours a day.

    Cons

I saw some very questionable things happen with the management and notaries. They would do anything they could, including lie, to get people to buy memeberships. I saw signatures and initials being forged because they didn't want to take the time to call the customer and risk them cancelling.

    Advice to Management

Follow the law! I left this job because I felt insecure when I brought the things I saw up to management. They ignored my concerns and I couldn't stand working somewhere where I couldn't feel good about the work I was doing.

    Advice to Management

    Leave the politics to government

I have been working at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment to work in. It can be a bit stressful but the managers are easy to talk to and communicate with one another.

    Cons

They are transitioning to a new company so the communication is not quite there between both the new and old company.

I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I met some very nice prople, Training wasn't equal. It did get good when they did it as a group .

    Cons

They gave their employees that had been there longer the good leads and fed the rest of us the scraps. There wasn't an up system and you could go days not getting a chance to make any money. Whenever, you had a good chance to close - the closing managers took over and got the lead from you.

    Advice to Management

Up system and give everybody a chance to earn a living.

I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

To represent a top-notch product that fills the need in their market. This ownership offers something that few others in the industry offer. Bonus Time. As a Sales Rep I had the opportunity to help owners to understand how to get their moneys worth from their purchase and actually build the perfect ownership to fit the owners needs. Usage equals value.

    Cons

The problem that exists in the time share industry is the liberty taken with truth. While this issue exists in all sales industries it seems more prevalent in time share. Management turns a blind eye to it unless a legal threat exists. The problem is at the top.

    Advice to Management

Clean up your act to clean up the industry. The problem starts at the top. Take the owners complaints to heart. Ask for feedback from your reps and listen to them.

    Pros

Awesome people to work with. You really get to know your co workers and consider them family. My current manger now is amazing.

    Cons

Disorganized management and high stress. The disorganization comes from the corporate Dept. And the high stress comes from also corporate. Granted the company has gone through massive changes the past 4 years however on both parties I believe they could of made the transition easier. More or less their are more affective ways in a companies transition. Besides moving and changing with fear, why don't we lead with motivation and excitement! I get it just business nothing personal but at the end of the day we are all human.

    Advice to Management

Get organized and explore more motivational practices.

I have been working at Silverleaf Resorts full-time

    Pros

    Paycheck
Meet New People from all over

    Cons

Management needs to learn how to manage, if you have to scream at your employees, you arent cut out to be in charge, constant threats to your job, covering other departments jobs because they can't hire someone or schedule employees correctly, zero communication if it isn't threatening to fire you (ex. If anyone mentions the mass firing of a dept. today, you will be terminated)

    Advice to Management

Maybe not have the new owners show up and tell everyone all of the great things the company is going to be doing in the new year, then a few months later have another meeting to fire every employee in the member services and sales 5 days after christmas.

    Pros

Whether you are new to sales or a seasoned veteran this is a great place to learn sales techniques or increase your skills the money is great it's a team enviroment and you work on a beautiful resort.

    Cons

The only thing that I can say was a con would be long hours but it's something that comes with every career.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!!!
