I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working at Silverleaf Resorts Inc. was wonderful because it was in a great location, they appreciated their employees by giving incentives such picnics, lunches, bonus, spiff and celebrated employees birthdays. They had a great benefits package as well, which included tuition reimbursement (when I first started). I was allowed to worked as many hours as need to complete a project and I was promoted 5 times within the company.

    Cons

    The building wasn't secure enough.

    Advice to Management

    Dedication and fair to all.

    Pros

The best job I've ever had. I loved the people, working at Six Flags and the massive paychecks. If one is motivated to approach hundreds of people, follow a consistent pitch and close hard, you will be successful.

    Cons

All markets were shut down (Glassdoor is making me do a review).

I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time

    Pros

Ability to make a lot of money in a little time. Does not require a college education. Flexible scheduling. Free entry to sporting events. Cash spiffs.

    Cons

Deceptive sales tactics. Hostile environment. No job security with roles constantly in flux and high turnover. Fear and intimidation management. Long commutes.

    Advice to Management

Out of business! Could still be in business if the management team was efficient. Clique group of boys pretending to be men who created a chaotic, unprofessional, and hostile environment. It all starts at the top and trickles down. We had endless complaints and lawsuits about the clique of white male managers who violated anti-harassment, discrimination, and labor laws. When Holiday Inn-Orange Lake Resorts took over the Silverleaf name in 2015 they immediately fired the person responsible for the mayhem and had staff meetings that this tired and outdated fear based management style would not be tolerated. Holiday Inn tried to clean up the mess but the culture of back stabbing was too embedded in the company and ultimately the entire marketing department was closed. Best decision for Holiday Inn’s reputation but 100’s of people lost their job right before the holidays. “A couple bad apples spoils the bunch.”
