I worked at Silversea Cruises full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Free annual cruise, decent benefits

    Cons

Sr. Management is totally misaligned and the silos work against each other. Global politics are causing stress, friction and waste a lot of money. Morale amongst the colleagues is hitting new all-time lows monthly. Owner thrives on "Game of Thrones" in his company. To top it all off, the office location in downtown Miami is the ultimate commuter's nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and start running this like one actual company and not like 15 different ones.

I worked at Silversea Cruises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good vacation policy with great cruise benefits

    Cons

Since privately owned company at mercy of owner who is known for changing upper level management every 2 years.
This time over the top change. Entire company moved to Miami because that is where cruise line owner, Manfredi has his condo.
Over 200 loyal employees forced to uproot and commute over 1 hour 30 minutes.

    Advice to Management

You ships sail out of Broward county! What are you doing in Miami??????
    Mark Conroy deserves thumbs up.

I worked at Silversea Cruises full-time

    Pros

Good benefits. Pay can be good in the right role. Leadership is somewhat lacking in the local office, but this allows a strong leader to shine. Travel is extensive in the right roles.

    Cons

Moving from friendly Fort Lauderdale to challenging Miami.
European firm with US presence = less favorable employee relations
Privately held = owner has his own way

    Advice to Management

Consider more international representation on staff to have them do a better job serving your top tier clientele.

    Pros

Travel Opportunities abroad make this a fun job for someone young and single.

    Cons

Working Internationally and abroad can be difficult if you have strong ties at home (i.e. married family).

    Advice to Management

Need to strengthen its commitment to hiring better qualified entry level personel and offering better pay and compensation to those more qualified.
