    I worked at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time

    Pros

Simon-Kucher is well known for pricing and especially in the life sciences industry. During my tenure, there was a great culture among the staff who often hung out together and were collaborative.

    Cons

Over time there cracks in the organization began to form. One of my biggest concerns is that the partners are now completely removed from the organization. They rarely attend events and, if you would like to speak with them, it is very hard to get time with them. Partners own the company and each of them thinks they are the king which creates a lot of conflict and tension. This also means that much of what the partners say is not true any more. For example, they say it is a flat organization which is supportive of individual growth but the partners are not accessible and they have been running as "up or out" for the last three years. These two trends show a clear disconnect between speaking points and the actual practice. Given how far down they are on revenue, they will probably have another round of dismissals at the end of the year (2017).

    Advice to Management

Your people are your most important asset, if you treat them poorly you're giving up on your future.

-Much less travel/better hours than most consulting firms

-Nowhere near enough women in certain divisions, and the few women on the "Diversity Committee" were very defensive about it
-Salary is eh compared to other consulting firms
    -Inadequate training for interns
-laptops, powerpoint templates, methodology is all a little outdated

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees! Give them the tools and training to help them meet your expectations, and hire more women

I have been working at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people and the culture at Simon-Kucher are, for the most part, pretty awesome. There are a lot of kind, intelligent people here. The benefits aren't bad either.

    Cons

Not a lot of transparency from management/HR. HR especially will tell you one thing one day and something completely different the next. Really makes you wonder what their trying to hide. Support staff frequently is treated as disposable and not worth investing in.

    Advice to Management

Keeping people who know what they are doing is beneficial to everyone. Make this a job that is actually worth keeping.

I have been working at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very nice people who are thoughtful, hard-working, fun, and enjoyable to be around. Early opportunity for responsibilities.

    Cons

The promotion process is a bit ambiguous and poorly run. It's also relatively low pay compared to competitors with a small bonus.

    Advice to Management

I would try to be more aware of team / office morale. When certain influential consultants or managers leave on a bad note, it can affect the office very quickly and when it's unnoticed by management, it makes it seem like they don't care about their employees.

    Pros

Very smart, fun classes. Hours aren't too bad, and minimal travel is nice.

    Cons

Company showed very little desire to train and keep the interns. Overall doesn't seem to prioritize experience of younger consultants. Salary below industry standards.
