    I have been working at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time

    Pros

    - The entrepreneurial spirit is great - Great people to learn from and to work with - Specialists with a lot of knowledge about pricing

    Cons

    - Work/life balance is not perfect, but it is the nature of consulting - Experiencing some growing pains (growing quickly) - Career options mainly revolve around pricing if you leave

    Advice to Management

Keep on promoting and developing the brand beyond Germany, consider investing more in marketing.

I have been working at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Very good knowledge base and know hows on marketing, sales and pricing topics - Smart and pleasant colleges - High share of analytical work (given interest in working analytically) - Overall, good training on marketing and pricing topics - opportunity to gain end-to-end understanding, from setting strategy, doing analytic, coordinating customer research, to implementation

    Cons

    - Weak middle management layer (due to strong attrition at Senior Consultant / Manager level) leading to coordination / delegation vacuum (lack of proper supervision, bad coordination, unnecessary stress) - High share of primadonnas at director / partner level (narcissistic PhDs, paternal management style, starting at the top) - Obsession with only one metric - growth, leading to short-termism, decreasing quality of projects - Majority of partners are to 95% involved in sales and execution, and only to 5% in people development - Projects are inconsistent, from "very cool" to "I would better cut my veins"; so lots of luck are required - Pay is not competitive

    I worked at Simon-Kucher & Partners full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hours: sometimes more (12-13h) but also normal (9-10h), very good because it is consulting, 50-60 per week Knowledge about pricing Lack of structure Quite good learning curve

    Cons

Lack of structure - pros&cons - soft and nice to work in but sometimes annoying Salary - level of big 4 not consulting firms like big 3 Not enough international projects

    Advice to Management

Pay minimum 2 times more starting from the bottom of hierarchy and teach better senior consultants, managers and directors how to manage a project and also people

    Pros

Laid-back culture in London office Genuine thought leadership in pricing strategy Flat organisational structure

    Cons

No alumni network whatsoever Limited bonus upside Brand name doesn't have recognition at level of Big 3/Big 4

    Advice to Management

Set up an alumni network! Lots of leading price strategy people are SKP alumni, but there's absolutely nothing to help us network and catch the latest trends from pricing.
