I have been working at Simon Property Group full-time

    Pros

Simon is a very organized company with a formula for every execution of business. I have learn business models that can translate to all businesses.

    Cons

Simon is a no "fluff" type of company. If you do not learn to roll with the punches you will not last with this company. You need to be able to learn fast and be adaptive.

I have been working at Simon Property Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, especially for an entry level job. My office is very lax with schedules (no write-ups for tardiness or long lunches and time off requests are usually approved without question). Ability to move up in the company if you're willing to move.

    Cons

Low pay. No clear explanation of duties or training in my experience. A lot of higher level responsibility falls to lower level employees and there are different rules for different employees (especially between salary and hourly roles). Admin roles tend to be a little boring/tedious.

    Advice to Management

Regionals should check in with mall teams and know what is happening on a more constant basis.

I worked at Simon Property Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly, your success depends heavily on your boss's. If you have the opportunity to work with some amazing people it can be very beneficial for you. Very flexible with your schedule so if your a Mom, student, or looking for extra cash this is the job for you.

    Cons

Simon Property has very little room for advancement. They also don't train their staff properly, they will hire you and expect you to figure it out.

    Advice to Management

    Lacking great communication.
    Needs a better training process

I worked at Simon Property Group full-time

    Pros

    - Fun generally upbeat environment (if you like malls)
    - Running a mall will keep you on your toes at all times!

    Cons

    - Corporate teams micro manage the field teams way too closely
    - Not a place that really accepts or encourages you to voice your own opinions, what corporate says you do
    - You sometimes feel like you are always being watched and judged by corporate teams
    - Pay could be much better
    - Not much room for growth, no formal training to prepare you for promotions

    Advice to Management

Allow the field mall teams to do their own campaigning and marketing. Take a step back and see what great things your great employees can do!
