I have been working at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - The company has been growing rapidly, but hasn't changed it's culture of caring about all of it's individual employees - Many tenured people who have worked their way up within the company from Intern all the way to Principal and that mentality hasn't changed - My colleagues come from many of the top Universities in the country - Great new office in Waltham - Benefits beyond pay are hard to top

    Cons

    - Make the road to promotion more clear so I know what to expect

I have been working at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time

    Pros

Good benefits package, good reputation, technically challenging work

    Cons

They set employees up to fail and blame them for not being efficient. They keep saying that they care about their employees, but their actions consistently display that they couldn't care less. Strong hierarchy and those on top are only looking out for themselves. People are cold and to themselves, its common for you to spend the whole day in the office without anyone acknowledging that you exist. Middle management is entitled and doesn't mentor or guide younger staff. Limited room for professional growth.

I worked at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

good perks/benefits, some genuinely nice UPPER management.

    Cons

Major disconnect between upper and lower management, all decisions are driven entirely to maximize profits at the expense of technical staffs. Rampant favoritism, no work-life balance, bitter/passive aggressive lower management. a significant part of "profit sharing" funds are tied to the company, meaning if you leave you forfeit it.

I worked at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time

    Pros

Heath Insurance okay, dental insurance okay

    Cons

Management is completely ignorant. Upper management has no business trying to run a company. Favoritism runs rampant, no room for promotion, zero work life balance. If you enjoy having things explained to you like a two year old, having your recommendations completely ignored and constant sexism this is the company for you!

I worked at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time

    Pros

Profitable company, good people, great technical expertise, great office locations, good perks, great benefits, good pay. There are some great people there who care deeply about the company and the employees.

    Cons

Culture is extremely passive aggressive, nobody will just speak the truth. They have high level practice leaders who walk around with a smile being nice, and then stab people in the back and do what they want to do to get their way. And executive management knows this, but they won't do anything about it. Plain and simply, they don't walk the talk. They say employees are important but they don't act that way. If you want to be the best in a technical service industry, you put your employees first, your work second, and the clients third. They reverse that. They ignore feedback on management that's inconvenient. The work is a grind, their productivity expectations (utilization goals) are ridiculous. Nobody has time to be a person, they just keep the profit machine grinding. I liked a lot of the people there, but the culture...no thanks. I wouldn't go back.

I worked at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. full-time

    Pros

The healthcare benefits are good, and the pay is decent.

    Cons

Projects run on very tight deadlines, making it necessary to work long hours. This is done either at the office of at home well into the night; emails timestamped late at night are normal.

    Pros

-friendly staff -young workforce -hourly pay -amazing benefits -good reputation -lots of friendly middle staff to teach you

    Cons

-a lot of politics in the administration and upper management -not enough pay for the bay area, more than half your pay will go to housing -inequality in workload distribution -some will find the work menial and boring

    Pros

There are some very cool, compassionate people there that try to make a positive working environment.

    Cons

Terrible management. They care more personal greed, than keeping their employees happy. Some employees are racist and express it to other people, HR does nothing.
