I worked at Simpson Strong-Tie full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Innovative products with history behind them. Found my coworkers helpful and caring

    Cons

Poor management , many of them inexperienced , undeserving to be in their position ( got the job based on who they know) and in it for themselves , company changed a lot in the 7 years I was there due to culture changes from poor leadership .

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to a conglomerate with better management who can handle the challenges better of being a mid sized company.

I have been working at Simpson Strong-Tie full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Simpson Strong-Tie is an amazing company that values work/life balance. There are numerous opportunities for personal growth including tuition reimbursement and company provided training. Colleagues are supportive (almost to a fault) and there's a strong atmosphere of camaraderie. The company is also working hard on steeling itself for a solid future.

    Cons

The company leadership isn't great about communicating downward the overall objectives of the company. This has been surprising because we have quarterly meetings and a company magazine, but it still feels like we're left guessing at what the ultimate objective is. Other than these company meetings it seems like the company leadership rarely comes downstairs to talk to the employees.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time with your employees. A simple monthly walkthrough the offices or or plant floor should suffice. We want to see you.

    Cons

There is not much room for advancement if one is not in sales or engineering. The pay is below average for technology-based jobs.

    Pros

    Good pay, benefits, and products

    Cons

Company has changed so much over the years. The culture has become very sleazy, cut throat and focused heavily on getting business at any cost. Including the cost of your character

    Advice to Management
