I worked at Sims Metal Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the benefits are pretty good. Lots of vacation time from the start. Pay is ok compared to other construction jobs around the area.

    Cons

Probably some of the worst upper management that you can possibly have. They play favorites with their people and it’s a very hard job to try and make that management team. They never listen to the line employees, the people that actually do the work. They make poor decisions with no regard for the workers. Don’t get hurt on the job they will come up with some excuse to fire you. I have seen it first hand.

    Advice to Management

You can’t give them advice because they are the smartest people in the word.

I worked at Sims Metal Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Having a job, free thanksgiving meal before getting layed off right before thanksgiving.

    Cons

Lowest possible pay, expected to perform tasks that will result in eventual long term injury.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Life's too short to be a slave driver for a company that doesn't appreciate the people who work for it.
